Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo technique used to create the illusion of fuller brows. A blade shaped tool with a row of tiny barely visible needles is used to create hair-like strokes along the brows whilst the pigment is implanted directly under the skin.
CONSULTATION
An initial consultation will be arranged to discuss shape and colour of your new brows. A patch test will also be performed and a consultation form needs to be filled out.
This usually takes about 30 minutes and is completely free of charge.
I will however require a £20 non refundable deposit to secure your appointment slot.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
I will begin measuring the area around your brows taking into account your face shape, symmetry, facial features etc. I will draw the shape according to the measurements I take and show you the shape I have drawn for you. You will make the final decision about the shape before I begin the microblading process.
After this is decided I apply anaesthetic to the brow area and leave this on for 20 minutes. During this time we can discuss the colours and I’ll swatch them on your forehead so we can compare the pigment colour and your natural brow hair.
After confirming the shape and colour we are ready to begin the microblading process. The treatment from start to finish consists of about 2.5-3 hours.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes, absolutely. I have been inspected and fully licensed by the local authority. The highest standards of hygiene are met, dermatologically safe and non allergenic pigments are used.
WILL IT HURT?
Some clients report very mild discomfort whilst other clients say they don’t feel anything at all. Clients have been known to fall asleep during the session. Anaesthetic is used before and during the procedure so it just depends on the individual.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
Microblading results usually last between 12-18 months depending on your skin type. Although if you prefer your brows crisp at all times regular touch ups are recommended annually.
TRUST THE PROCESS…
Microblading is a process and it’s important to understand this process. So after the procedure the area will be tender and a bit swollen so it will take a few hours to subside.
For the brows to fully heal, it takes approximately 4-6 weeks. It is normal for some loss or unevenness of colour over those healing weeks. This is because it is difficult to see the pigment through the healing layers of skin BUT colour will reappear on weeks 3-4.
6-8 WEEK TOUCH UP
For microblading a touch up is recommended for 90% of clients. Everyones skin is different and we can never predict how your skin will heal. That’s why a touch up is advised to perfect the brows. I always say that at this touch up session is when the magic happens.
